MORE REPRESENTATIVE OF BASKETBALL PLAYERS

Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson, NBA superstar. He was born in Hampton, Virginia, on June 171975, he grew up in a poor family without the basic needs such as electricity, heat or water. Circumstancethat would surely lead it to devote himself fully to the sport. In his days in High School, atBethel at Hampton high school, Iverson was a great player of American football and abasketball star, and won many awards for both sports, the most important were best AAAfootball player and best foundation owner junior Basketball LeagueUnfortunately to the17 year-old Iverson is involved in a street fight where he is accused of hurting a girl, so itwas sentenced to 5 years in prison. But only I would be 4 months and would be onprobation.

After this bad experience, Iverson would be rewarded for his talent in the sport, with afellowship at Georgetown University in Washington. There is a bit of his past would forgetand becomes a college basketball sensation obtaining numerous awards as a player Rookieof the year, player of the year, 2 consecutive defensive player, as well as winning goldmedal at the world youth basketball held in Japan in 1995.

In 1996, Iverson is selected in position number 1 of the Draft by Philadelphia 76ers, just inits first season was named the rookie of year (Rookie), and gets a multimillion-dollarcontract with the Reebok brand.

In the following years become the player franchise of Philadelphia, leading the team inpoints, assists and steals, as well as taking them to the finals against the Los Angeles Lakers(2000-2001) season, in which the team of Iverson would be defeated in 5 games.

Allen records include that it has been the most offensive all NBA player on 4 occasions(1999, 2001, 2002 and 2005), and is the third leading scorer of all time. He has won twicethe MVP or most valuable player (2001 and 2005). I am involved as co - captain in theAthens 2004 Olympics being the scorer of his team with an average of 13 pts.

In December 2006 the Philadelphia team transferred to Allen Iverson to the DenverNuggets.

"The answer" is also known Allen has had a career full of successes, although in his life staffhas not been the case, continuous problems with the law have somewhat overshadowedhis brilliant career.

Iverson is the father of three children, and helps many young people through variousevents such as the "Allen Iverson Celebrity Summer Classic". where they meet some NBAstars and the proceeds going to various institutions.

In 2000 it had thought that Iverson threw her first production of rap under the name of"jewels", but due to the controversies that caused the CD lyrics, decides not to launch it tothe market.

If we talk about the best foundation owner of the Allen story could fill the position withoutany problem, its spectacular dribble, the accuracy of your shot, his impressive form ofpenetrating and his athletic ability make it a unique player, perhaps only we could comparethe quality of Iverson with other greats such as Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan andGeorge Gervin.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Kareem Abdul Jabbar

(Lewis Alcindor; New York, 1947) American basketball player. Exceeded in many respects toWilt Chamberlain as the best player in history, in part because his career was much broader,since he retired in 1988 with 41 years. Playing as pivot achieved the title of leading scorerof history in the American professional League (NBA), with 38.387 points gotten from 1969to 1988, as well as scored baskets (15.837) and plugs (3.189). Throughout his career he averaged 24.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. He was the leading scorer of theLeague twice (1970-71 and 71-72).

Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain

(Called Wilt the Stilt - stilts-;) Philadelphia, USA, 1936) American basketball player. He hadto go through countless colleges and universities before getting to the Overbrook HighSchool in Philadelphia basketball team accepted it. His offensive game was so brilliant andeffective that it was very coveted by the different universities. He played two years at theUniversity of Kansas and the following year trained with the team the Harlem Globetrotters,after which started in the NBA as a player of the Philadelphia WarriorsFrom 1965 to 1968he was part of the team Philadephia 76ers and finished his career in the Los Angeles Lakers.

Not missing anyone who claims that the Organization of the NBA came to establish newregulations that, in practice, meant a restriction of his skills as a scorer, so that his sheerpresence not too desequilibrara the level of play. Few athletes have achieved dimensionsthat Chamberlain showed throughout his career as a basketball player. His record remainedin effect until 1984, that was beaten by the also legendary Kareen Abdul Jabbar.

Patrick Ewing

Patrick Ewing

Patrick Ewing is a retired Hall of Fame basketball player best known for winning Olympic gold medals in basketball in 1984 and 1992.SynopsisPatrick Ewing's early life as an immigrant from Jamaica was difficult. He rose above by dedicating himself to basketball, gaining entry in 1981 into Georgetown University, where he quickly became a team leader. He went on to play for the New York Knicks, Seattle SuperSonics and Orlando Magic. He went on to win two Olympic gold medals in basketball in 1984 and 1992, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.Early LifePatrick Aloysius Ewing was born in Kingston, Jamaica, August 5, 1962, to father Carl Ewing, who worked as a mechanic, and mother Dorothy Ewing, who stayed at home to raise the family's seven children. Ewing's parents immigrated to American when Patrick was seven. However, the family suffered so much financially that Ewing remained on the island for four years with his siblings, until his parents earned enough to bring each of the children to the U.S. Ewing finally came to America at the age of 11, moving into a five-room house in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with the rest of his family.Patrick Ewing, who was already excelling at cricket and soccer, learned to play basketball with the help of some neighborhood children playing a pick-up game. The young man, who was already six-feet six-inches by the time he was 12, took to the game very naturally. School, however, was more of a feat for Ewing, who had to take summer school classes and use the help of tutors to make his way academically.Determined to succeed, Ewing worked hard as a high school student at Cambridge's Rindge and Latin School. On the court, Ewing led his team to three state championships, and also tried out for the 1980 Olympic team. Although he didn't make the team, the experience was a coup to the young athlete, who was the first high school student to be invited to the Olympic basketball try-outs. During this time, Ewing also joined the MIT-Wellesley Upward Bound Program, a college-prep program for economically disadvantaged high school students. The work paid off; Ewing earned entry into Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.Georgetown SuccessAs a Georgetown athlete, Ewing was quickly a team leader. With the help of Ewing's leadership, the Georgetown Hoyas reached the championship game of the NCAA tournament three out of the four years Ewing was on the team. In 1984, the Hoyas won the NCAA championship and Ewing was chosen as the Outstanding Player of the tournament, beating out experienced player Hakeem Olajuwon for the title. That same year, Ewing again tried out for the U.S. Olympic basketball team. This time, he was accepted onto the team, which won the gold medal that year. But while life on the court was successful for Ewing, the player's personal life was rocky and tumultuous. In 1983, Ewing's mother passed away from a heart attack. While still grieving for his mother, the athlete learned that high school sweetheart Sharon Stanford was pregnant with their child. Patrick Aloysius Ewing, Jr. was born May 21, 1984, while Ewing was still a college student.Ewing was frightened by the prospect of supporting a young child as a student, but he held true to the promise he made to his mother to finish school. He turned down multiple lucrative endorsements and offers of professional ball until his graduation in 1985. That year, Ewing was in high demand by the National Basketball Association. The New York Knicks won the Draft Lottery, and selected Ewing first overall.New York KnicksAlthough he sustained several injuries his first year in the league, Ewing still managed to average 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks per game. His performance earned Ewing the NBA Rookie of the Year title, and credibility as one of the premier centers in the league. Ewing enjoyed a successful career with the Knicks for more than 15 years, playing against opponents such as Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon and Scottie Pippin. He was named an NBA All-Star 11 times, made it to the All-NBA First Team and Second Team, and was a member of the original "Dream Team" at the 1992 Olympic Games. In 2000, Patrick Ewing left the Knicks as part of a trade to the Seattle SuperSonics. After a year with the Sonics, and another with the Orlando Magic, he announced his retirement. On September 18, 2002, Ewing left professional basketball. That season, he took a job as assistant coach for the Washington Wizards. On February 28, 2003, Ewing's jersey, "No. 33" was retired in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden. In 2008, Ewing was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Scottie Pippen

Scottie Pippen was born in 1965 in Arkansas United States.
He grew up there and attended the University of Arkansar, although the study did notinfluence in its capacity as a basketball player, since he had averages 26.3 points and 10rebounds per game, that led to a good choice in the Draft.
Hewas chosen by the Seattle Supersonics in the fifth place of the Draft, although leaders ofthe Chicago Bulls had placed emphasis on the young promise and not took too long toremember the passage that would lead him to the Chicago.
Departing from the bench, heaveraged 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists greatlyhelping the team, and Chicago Bulls would agree to the second round of the Playoff for thefirst time in 10 years.
Unfortunately for the player and the team, they were eliminated, although that served asleaders of the Bulls opened the great future of Scottie.
In the following years, Pippen continued within the team as the second player, afterMichael Jordan, and its validity was recognized in 1990 when was selected to the all-starand first won their first NBA title in 1991.
Togetherwith his friend Jordan Scottie formed an unstoppable couple who led the Bulls todevote itself with 3 consecutive championships since 1991.
In 1993, the surprising withdrawal of Jordan left Pippen with the possibility to show that it was more than just an Assistant to Michael, and in the season 93-94 deployed his excellentgame leading to the Bulls. He was the MVP of the all-star and led the Bulls to a mark of 55-27, though they were then defeated by the Knicks.
After some disputes with the coach of Chicago, it was decided his transfer in Exchange forShawn Kemp, although he would return in the middle of the season 94-95 of Jordan withthe Bulls. With Michael and Pippen, the Bulls fell in the second round, to the OrlandoMagic, led by the fearsome Shaquille O'Neal.
The following year, with the arrival of Dennis Rodman, the Bulls get a historical milestone,72-10 in the regular phaseWith these 3 amazing players, and with the contribution ofKukoc and Ron Harper, the Bulls managed to obtain 3 Championships followed between1996 and 1998.
In the 19992000 season, in Portland, a veteran and Pippen helped his team reach theWestern Conference final, but, after falling defeated, Scottie returned to Chicago, but it wasno longer the same as before that team with big stars, but it was a team in training.
Finally, in December 2005their number was retired and went on to join several historicalballers as his friend Michael Jordan.
